  • Happy New Year - is this the year of the pig?!

A happy New Year to you all. I'd like to start with a big thank you to all those that have bought a copy of the book and an even bigger thanks to those that have taken the time to write in with your positive comments. Here's the latest positive feedback from Valentine in Honiton ...

Thanks for the delightful books which arrived yesterday in Honiton. Bought as much for Granny (saw review in WMN) who grew up in Cornwall and her son (frustrated surfer living in London) and his twin sons (in piggy suits for school nativity!) - 3 in March. You can see where I am coming from! The little ones will probably get the book nearer holiday time in July when they will all be at Daymer Bay for two weeks. Anything to start them early! I love the drawings (evocative landscape) and of course the text - brilliant!!

We ended last year having nearly sold our 1,000th copy in 7 weeks so the pressure is on to keep the momentum going. PR wise, we managed to keep people talking about Pigs Might Surf on radio, in newspapers and online. My radio interview in late December on Radio Cornwall was fairly interesting as I decided to take my 5 year old Georgi on the show. Those that know her will know she is not shy, and in this live interview she virtually took over, discussing all issues from the book to her hoped-for Christmas present of a doll that wees itself!

Anyway, lets hope 2012 brings as much happiness as possible to you all in these austere times. We're hoping this will be a good year for Bailie the surfing pig as he embarks on new journey's - whatever these may be?!...
